Naked Fridays!

I'll keep this short but not sweet: I'm over at The Naked Character today, talking about why I love writing kick-ass female heroines. Drop by if you get the chance!

And have a fantastic weekend.

PS - I'm having some issues replying to comments over there right now, but I do read and appreciate each one. :)

  2. Leave it to you to mention naked and alcohol in your posts and call me over every time. It's like we were meant for each other! LOL...

  3. It's been brought to my attention that I wrote 'kiss ass' instead of 'kick ass'! Oops - sorted now!

Thanks, Alexandra! I think more and more genres feature stronger heroines now. Thank goodness.

Jen, ha!I think we were separated at birth.

  7. NIce interview. It's obvious you have a deep understanding of your character, and what you want as a writer. Great read.

  9. Talli, I think you're right! I've been seeing more of them in the past few years. It makes me glad, because it's the only kind of heroine I write, and my favorite kind of book to read (I like any genre if I can really identify with the strong female lead!).

  15. This is a good thing!

In Fire's Daughter, I wrote a kick-ass character who doesn't really know she's kick-ass at the beginning of the story. But that's what makes it fun. Letting the reader find out along with her, or, sometimes even before her.

    Kick-ass women are good!

  21. Here's to strong women. Just finished a Terry Pratchett book, Monstrous Regiment, with several strong female characters. (It's part of his Discworld series so there's lost of tongue in cheek.)

  26. Strong women. The only kind to have. Years ago there used to be spark plugs advertised as "Tough but oh so gentle." Kind of like that. Ha

  27. ...female heroines have gradually become all the rage in both the literary world, as well as in Hollywood.

It has opened the doors for the likes of Katniss Everdeen and others to stand in the forefront of the action/drama genre.

Heading over there now, Talli ;)

  31. Great post, Talli. There's something about a strong heroine who stands her ground with an arched brow that just makes me go 'Yeah!' x
